This committee serves the chapter by recognizing individual and chapter achievements throughout the year. We capture moments and events through photographs and video, ensure nomination for awards are submitted timely and prepares monthly award recognition.
The mission of the SHRMJC Certification Committee is to provide education and guidance to current members in their quest to obtain CP and SCP status as outlined by SHRM National. We do this by being available to answer questions regarding the benefits of certification, exam schedules, deadlines, fees and eligibility requirements, as well as keeping members informed about, and facilitating, upcoming study sessions.
We realize the challenges encountered by college students as they prepare to start their careers. Our goal is to help these soon-to-be professionals make a smooth transition into the workforce by providing them with professional support and development opportunities that will aid them in their roles as HR practitioners.

The Communications Committee is focused on providing the Johnson County HR community with timely, pertinent and topical information that's just a click away! Through the continuing development of the SHRMJC website and by partnering with the other committees, we strive to keep our website fresh and relevant to support your professional development.
The SHRMJC Diversity Committee exists to foster an inclusive environment within SHRMJC through behaviors, image and reputation. Ensuring that SHRMJC is viewed both internally and externally as an inclusive organization that values differences and supports all members and affiliates is a primary goal of the events and resources offered through our committee.
This Committee provides assistance to the human resources community by keeping members informed about legislative and administrative developments. It also assists members in petitioning legislative and administrative officials at the federal and state levels.
The goal of the Marketing Committee is to generate income for the chapter in order to support our expenses. In order to do this, we are responsible for researching and soliciting companies for paid sponsorships and advertising. We are also responsible for external communications in order to promote our events to the general business and HR community.
Help SHRMJC grow and maintain members by contributing in areas such as member engagement, making welcome calls, organizing events, analyzing member trends and creating membership material.
Getting an education and learning on the job are great ways to establish and develop your skills. But did you know that you have another great resource through SHRMJC to help you continue to learn and grow? Our committee focuses on sourcing and coordinating monthly development and educational programs. We also work with the Certification and Membership committees on program design, collecting feedback on our offerings and ideas for new programs.
Our committee produces monitors and contributes to the monthly e-newsletter and social media campaigns and seeks opportunities to increase awareness of SHRMJC. We ensure complete communication of events and news with our members.
Workforce Readiness is defined as the preparation of individuals for entry/re-entry into the workforce. Our goal is to encourage SHRMJC members to share their time and talents by reaching out to adults re-entering the workforce and students to prepare them for their entrance into tomorrow's professional world. We partner with a diverse range of community organizations to offer activities that reinforce this goal.
