What's Hot? What's Not? Recent Developments in Labor and Employment Law
In this informative and entertaining session, we will review this year's latest Supreme Court cases, lower court cases from around the country, and new laws and regulations which every human resources professional needs to know. We'll cover it all, from developments in sexual harassment issues, wrinkles under the FMLA and ADA, to trends in labor law affecting every workplace.
Participants will learn:

- Descriptions of new legislation and regulations affecting HR Practitioners.
- The latest trends in employment and labor laws and regulations.

Michael Blumenthal is a founding member of Seyferth Blumenthal & Harris LLC, a Kansas City-based law firm representing businesses across the United States in employment matters and business litigation. Mike was named by The Best Lawyers in America as the 2017 “Lawyer of the Year” in Kansas City in labor and employment litigation. He was recognized by Missouri Lawyers' Weekly as one of Missouri's 2018 "Legal Champions" for his work in a lawsuit his firm filed on behalf the Health Care Foundation of Greater Kansas City, which obtained more than $175 million for the benefit of the Kansas City community. Mike has received numerous other professional accolades for his work as an employment lawyer and as a trial lawyer representing businesses. Mike is the past president and a former board member of the Society for Human Resource Management of Johnson County, and he is frequent speaker at human resources and employment law seminars. Mike received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas. He is also is an accomplished martial artist, holding a fifth degree black belt in traditional karate.

We are required to turn in the number of registered attendees to the Ritz Charles for planning purposes and must pay for the number of attendees we anticipate, whether they attend or not.
