Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for both operational and technical duties in the areas of recruitment and on boarding of new hires, processing new hires, terminations and status changes in the HRIS and payroll data bases, responding to unemployment claims, questions from managers and team members and general HR law compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the recruitment process including posting jobs, review of applications, interviewing non-exempt and exempt candidates and coordination of interviews with management team.
- Coordinates pre-employment screening process of new team members including background and drug screens.
- Prepares and processes all status change forms, and assures proper approvals.
- Assists with the on-boarding of new hires, the orientation process, and ensures all proper paperwork and documentation is received.
- Maintain team member information within HRIS system and personnel files.
- Assist team members with various information updates and like address changes, name changes, etc.
- Prepare unemployment responses on charges or claims within regional group.
- Maintain all DOT files and scheduling of DOT certifications and re-certifications.
- Prepares and processes monthly invoicing reports for drug screens, background checks, uniform rentals, and other payroll deductions.
Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of Human Resources experience required.
- Previous multi-state experience (or at least KS & MO) strongly preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Experience with HRIS database preferred, or ability to learn new computer programs quickly, including being detail oriented and accurate with data entry.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize work for maximum efficiency.
- Ability to work well under pressure, dealing simultaneously with a large number of duties in a fast paced environment.

Isle of Capri Casino in Kansas City is searching for a Human Resources Generalist to join our team. The HR Generalist will:
- Perform various Human Resources functions in support of team members, managers, the Human Resources department, and the organization.

- Conduct recruitment efforts for all positions, including submission of advertising, pre-screening candidates, attending external job fairs, and coordinating internal job fairs and panel interviews.

We require:
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or 1- 2 years of general Human Resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.
- Working knowledge of employment- and benefits-related federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to apply sound judgment and proactively suggest program or policy improvements.
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
Typically the HR team works during normal business hours, but since we're open 24/7, the successful applicant must be able to work any assigned shift, including late nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. This position does require a Missouri Gaming Commission occupational license, which includes an extensive background check. We are located in the Kansas City metro area and are actively seeking a Recruiter to join our dynamic Human Resources Team.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Recruiter will be responsible for providing ongoing oversight of talent acquisition programs to include recruitment, onboarding and off boarding. Key duties include sourcing, screening, interviewing and recommending prospective candidates for employment. In addition, provides support throughout all Thrall Companies in areas of defining job roles, employee retention, policy and program research, onboarding vendor relations, and report generation.
DUTIES
- Confers with management and supervisors to develop a thorough understanding of the department and uses that understanding to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
- Delivers high quality candidates, while guiding hiring managers and candidates through the selection process.
- Proactively fills positions utilizing a variety of methods including, Internet, advertising and sourcing, social media, networking and referrals.
- Provides guidance, advice, and counsel on all recruiting related matters to hiring managers.
- Develops recruitment programs and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.
- Benchmarks other companies, conducts research and proposes enhancements to recruitment, selection and reporting responsibilities.
- Develops and maintains network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
- Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings.
- Coordinates communications with applicants and candidates.
- Reviews applications and resumes and screens applicants for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge by obtaining work history, education, training, job skills, behaviors and salary requirements, in relation to position requirements.
- Qualifies and refers candidates for additional interviews with others in organization.

- Writes and places job advertising in various media. Develops and coordinates internal job posting program and writes job postings.
- Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates.
- Utilizes sources such as database searches, social media, job posting, networking, and referrals to identify and recruit candidates.
- For relocating new hires, oversees relocation process in conjunction with VP of HR and Relocation Management Company (when applicable).
- Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town candidates.
- Performs reference and background checks on candidates as appropriate and reviews results with hiring manager.
- Manages the scheduling and logistics of all interviews between candidates, hiring managers and interview teams.
- Facilitates and documents post interview feedback with interview teams and candidates.
- Extends offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring manager, and appropriate HR Manager and manages the offer, negotiation, closing and administrative components involved in full lifecycle recruiting.
- Manages the on-boarding process to include creating on-boarding plans, scheduling and providing new hire orientation, and scheduling all new hire training with various subject matter experts.
- Prepares internal company communication related to on-boarding, promotions and transfers.
- Files and maintains employment records for future references.
- Evaluates all aspects of the organization's employment practices, including hiring, development, promotion, and retention data, to assess workforce composition and to ensure compliance with the Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures.
- Maintains and manages all applicable applicant and employment logs.
- Stays informed of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices
- Perform retention and exit interviews and process paperwork for change of employee status or for new hires.
- Update intranet as needed for internal postings, posting forms or policies/procedures and other items as necessary.
- Maintains headcount reports (Table of Organization and Org Charts) and active employee status in the PED System.
- Updates all recruiting portions of the executive monthly reports.
- Develops, implements and analyzes Human Resources related data on a monthly basis (i.e., compiling recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, source of hire, and customer satisfaction.
- Determines trends and generates relevant reports. Develops and proposes action plans to create positive trends.
- Works with hiring managers to help identify manpower headcount forecasting.
- Acts as an advocate to employees to ensure the organization is known as an “employer of choice.”

- This position requires an extremely perceptive person, who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels. Must possess a positive, customer-service philosophy.
- Strong PC, web and database management skills required, must be technically savvy
- ADP HRIS products and other HRIS “mainstream” products.
Preferred:
- Experience with applicant tracking systems preferred.
- PHR or SPHR Preferred.
- Preferably bi-lingual with ability to speak, read and write in Spanish.
