Talent Management—By learning the 5 components of Emotional Intelligence participants will learn how to identify precise leadership competencies incorporated with the organization strategy and acquirement. Human Resources Managers will be able to identify and develop key talent after learning the four personality technique.

Participants will learn:

  • Know your emotions · What tics you off and learn 3 ways to handle it?
  • Manage your emotions · What is your negative self talk…and what is it doing to you?
  • Recognize emotions in others · Learn the communication breakdown to recognize emotions. ·
  • Listening is 100% emotion. Learn to listen to what people are really saying.
  • Choosing your emotions · What are the obstacles that are stopping you from choosing?
  • Handling your emotions · Understand the personality differences and the emotional characteristics.

 This program has been approved for 1.5 certification credit with SHRM and HRCI.

Speaker Bio:

Buckle Up! Be ready to be energized, interactive and entertained! Candy Whirley is a speaker and author and specializes in breaking down barriers so that people will work better together, learn to deal with change, improve communication, and become more creative. Her interactive style includes stories and innovative activities that not only make learning fun, but bring meaning to the topic and help the participants retain and apply what they have learned. Candy has been a regular speaker for SHRM State Conferences. You may have seen her at the 2009, 2012 and the 2014 SHRM National Conferences. She brings a wealth of experience from many industries including: training, retail, real-estate, customer service (certified by International Customer Service Association - ICSA), restaurant, entertainment, management, and youth ministry. Candy served on the Board and was the 2007-2008 President of the Kansas City Chapter of the National Speakers Association. She graduated Cum Laude from Missouri Western State College with a B.S. Degree in Speech Communications, with a Human Relations Emphasis, and has earned her Master in Management at the University of Phoenix.

SHRMJC's Cancellation Policy:  If you must cancel your reservation, please do so no later than 72-hours prior to the event. We are required to turn in the number of registered attendees to the Ritz Charles for planning purposes and must pay for the number of attendees we anticipate, whether they attend or not. As a not-for-profit organization we simply can't afford to pay for no-shows.  Thanks for understanding!
