SHRMJC continues to work hard to set goals and strategic initiatives in support of the HR profession and to meet the needs of HR professionals. It's through these ongoing efforts that they tirelessly strive to increase the Chapter's visibility, effectiveness and impact within the HR community. Below are just a few of the awards that SHRMJC has received in recognition of their achievements!
SHRM Excel Award
SHRM strongly encourages each of its affiliated chapters and state councils to establish goals and strategic
initiatives in support of the HR profession and to meet the needs of HR professionals. These goals and
initiatives allow our affiliates to increase their visibility and effectiveness as well as expand impact within the
HR community, and they are the basis for SHRM’s Excel Awards.
The Excel Awards recognize achievements by SHRM chapters and state councils in three categories:
SERVING HR PROFESSIONALS
Initiatives that support and promote professionals with HR responsibility to be successful business leaders. Activities may be related to SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification/recertification, competency-based professional development, or skills development including student initiatives to support the future of the profession.
ADVANCING THE HR PROFESSION
Initiatives advancing the HR profession by creating awareness with or supporting key constituents including workplace, government and regulatory representatives, employers, schools, media and the community at large.
Activities may be outreach and awareness programs, government or public affairs, raising funds and supporting the SHRM Foundation’s annual initiative to build inclusive organizations, or focus on key issues such as inclusion, diversity, or workforce readiness.
ENHANCING THE SHRM COMMUNITY
Initiatives providing programs and services that support SHRM, meet members’ needs, or further the chapter or state council efforts. Activities may include efforts to foster member engagement, retention and acquisition, volunteer development and recognition.
SHRM Foundation Chapter Champion
Through the support from SHRM chapters, state councils, and volunteer leaders, the SHRM Foundation is able to fulfill their mission to champion workforce and workplace transformation.
To say thanks to chapters, councils, and volunteer leaders who go above-and-beyond, the SHRM Foundation has created a number of recognition awards, one of which is the Top 25 Fundraising Chapter Award. With more than 500 SHRM Chapters, the Top 25 Fundraising Chapters represents 5% of all chapters. Chapters on this prestigious list have the highest total annual contributions, with totals including gifts from the chapter, plus recognition credits given by individuals or companies when making their donation.
SHRMJC's continued support of the The SHRM Foundation helps to deliver scholarships and resources to students and HR professionals to build inclusive organizations where workers thrive and organizations succeed.
SHRM Learning System Champion
What does it mean to be a SHRM Learning System Champion?
The competency-based SHRM-CP® and SHRM-SCP® credentials are the new global standard in HR certification. These credentials are among the first HR certifications focused on teaching and testing the practical, real-life information HR professionals need to advance their organizations, and excel in their careers today, including knowledge, skills, and behavioral competencies.
The SHRM Learning System Champion status is a recognition of our chapter’s hard work to elevate the HR profession through professional development and HR knowledge among members, gained from SHRM certification. SHRM created this prestigious distinction in support of its premier educational product. This status also helps to promote the HR profession at the local level by using the SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.
