College Relations Committee

We realize the challenges encountered by college students as they prepare to start their careers.  Our goal is to help these soon-to-be professionals make a smooth transition into the workforce by providing them with professional support and development opportunities that will aid them in their roles as HR practitioners.

Goals: Provides a liaison between SHRMJC and area universities keeping student SHRM chapters informed of activities related to the HR profession.

Methods: By developing and supporting ongoing relationships between faculties and student chapters and by providing programs and communication to stimulate activity within SHRMJC.

Benefits: Committee members aid in practical guidance to students interested in the HR fields and provide a professional network to help stimulate their growth and career development. Also helps to bridge the transition from student membership to professional membership.

Volunteer Opportunities for people who are interested in helping with the following programs for HR students:

  • Student Internships
  • Organizing Student Chapters
  • Scholarships Opportunities
  • Mentorship Programs/Job Shadowing
  • Professional Development Activities

We are here to bridge the gap between HR students and the local HR community!
